During Claire's 15 years experience in the southern African tourism industry, she achieved a diploma in Travel and Tourism then moved into a number of challenging positions in the industry. These included being a key member for British Airways ground crew, a fully qualified and experienced tour guide, running and managing a popular guest farm, operations manager for a highly respected tour operator and then onto designing quality vacation itineraries for her clients now at Africa Tamed Tours & Travel.

The highlights of Claire's career would include the 5 years she invested in guiding adventure overland tours, introducing her clients to the unique attractions and different cultures of all southern African countries, driving adventure overland vehicles through challenging, utterly beautiful terrain and gaining immeasurable experience and sharing fascinating information about Mother Nature with her clients.
Of particular excitement and an accolade to her tenacity and perseverance, was an invite to join the vital back up support team to the Tour D'Afrique cycle race, one of the world's toughest endurance mountain bike races that takes place annually here in Africa . The race commences in Cairo and terminates in Cape Town , traversing the entire length of Africa and lasting for four months. This challenging, character building race is vividly captured in a book written by Claire telling of human triumphs, team building and the hardships of our people in Africa.
